The purpose of the program is to move sustainable production forward through innovation, application of new technology, demonstration, outreach/extension, and education, ultimately resulting in increased sustainable production and supply of strawberries to American consumers.

The core mission of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is to make a positive impact for that key industry through the research done by the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and the teaching done by the Cooperative Extension Service.
13 interrelated majors and 21 minors prepare students for careers in every facet of the food industry from production to consumption, careers in business and public service serving families and consumers, and careers that advance environmental sustainability.
